Pretty Pink Posh Blog Hop: Best Wishes

I’ve been excitedly waiting for the second Pretty Pink Posh blog hop with the theme “Cutting Edge” and it’s finally here! YAY!

Paulina challenges us to use our die cuts in creative ways and join in the fun. Of course I can’t say no to that even though I’m waist deep in helping my best friend prepare her wedding and getting ready for my own bridesmaid duties. But hey, die cutting! I got my priorities straight Image may be NSFW.

I love Paulina’s cards because they are always bright, cheerful, and even a bit playful. I’m still struggling with that particular style, but I thought I’d give it my best, seeing as Paulina has put this hop together.
I started by stamping the balloon from Lawn Fawn onto Simon Says Stamp ultra heavy cards stock and colored it with my Copics. Paulina has recently shown a lime green card and that color was still stuck in mind, so I went with green, too. I die cut the balloon with the matching dies (see supply list below).

I then did some creative masking of the clouds and the two smaller balloons in the background. I stamped the smaller balloons with MFT Grout Grey, because it also resists the Copics, and colored the balloon light pink and light blue. Then I stamped the clouds in various cheerful colors to create a background.

The vellum clouds were die cut and adhered to the card (I simply put some adhesive behind the big balloon) to mute the colors of the clouds and add some interest and dimension.

Lastly, I die cut a tiny tag and stamped a sentiment on it to complete the card. And of course I added tons of sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. Would be a strange blog hop for Paulina if I didn’t include those Image may be NSFW.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the card. Cheers!
